Practicing Eagle Pose in Bed

In this short video, Jivana shares some thoughts and tips on practicing in bed, in general, along with tips specific to exploring eagle pose from a bed. In general, a bed practice is more physically gentle and it can be a great way to find ways into an asana practice that's still benefit-based. Eagle pose itself has so many benefits! It can help with balance, range of motion, flexibility, concentration...in this video, Jivana focuses on range of motion and how we can continue to connect with the energy of the pose in a bed yoga practice.
 

Jivana Heyman, C-IAYT, E-RYT500, is the founder and director of Accessible Yoga, an international non-profit organization dedicated to increasing access to the yoga teachings. He’s the author of the book, Accessible Yoga: Poses and Practices for Every Body (Shambhala Publications 2019), co-owner of the Santa Barbara Yoga Center, and an Integral Yoga Minister. Jivana has specialized in teaching yoga to people with disabilities with an emphasis on community building and social engagement. He lives with his husband and two children in Santa Barbara, California.
