Patanjali offers the Eight Limbs of Yoga as a path for cultivating wisdom and inner knowing.
We often hear about the importance of practicing the fullness of yoga—all Eight Limbs—but how do we actually do that?
In this course, we’ll take a journey through the Eight Limbs, exploring the power of yoga’s step-by-step approach to self-realization. This includes yoga’s ethical teachings to help build a strong self-practice and become more established in the fullness of the practice.
In particular, we’ll look at the role of asana in preparing for the subtle practices, and how to find accessible and gentle ways into pranayama and meditation. We’ll also delve into the essential teachings and practices that are often overlooked in contemporary practice, such as pratyahara (sense withdrawal). This exploration will also support us in becoming more effective yoga teachers, as we explore ways to integrate the Eight Limbs in our classes.
Join Jivana Heyman for expansive and inspiring exploration of the Eight Limbs of Yoga to support relaxation, nervous system regulation, meditation, and spiritual unfolding.
