Many folks talk about attaining “perfect alignment” in yoga, but the true essence of “perfect alignment” lies in creating a sense of safety within our students' bodies, especially when it comes to teaching disabled students.
Grounding poses play a powerful role in guiding us to discover our center of gravity and inspiring a safe and transformative practice.
In this FREE workshop, we’ll discover and embody our center of gravity through the grounding pose Tadasana (Mountain Pose). Tadasana exists within every pose, serving as the foundational posture that gently reconnects us to our body. It allows us to ground ourselves in love and prepare to move consciously and safely, which is essential when facilitating yoga with folks with disabilities.
In this 60-minute session, we will embark on a creative exploration, discovering ways to nurture the profound sensation of grounding within ourselves and our students through Tadasana. We’ll explore:
-
How you can support someone in a wheelchair to experience the sensation of grounding
-
How to find center and ground in Mountain Pose
-
Ways you can use props to facilitate the experience of grounding
Let's discover mountains and explore these questions together!
Rodrigo will conclude the session by also sharing about the curriculum of his upcoming course, Yoga for Disabled Folks: Accessible & Adaptive Practices for Those with Limited Mobility & Wheelchair Users - which begins May 29th, 2025.
We'll also be giving away a FREE place in the upcoming 10-hour Yoga for Disabled Folks online course to one lucky workshop participant, so we invite you to join Rodrigo live for his workshop on May 12th for your chance to win!
